Mason Jar Soy Candles

One of my favorite spots on Earth is the Nashville Flea Market. Endless "junk" to be shoveled through. And lots of hip people to people watch. But the vendor that I always migrate towards 

is "The Soy Candle Lady" as I like to call her. She has decadent smelling candles that burn perfectly, so I immediately had to learn how to make my very own!

Desk Space

This is one of my favorite spaces in my room. I love stories behind things, so it definitely incorporates lots of knick knacks with precious stories.

Flea Market Finds & OOTD

Yesterday, two of my bestest friends & I went on a junking trip to the Nashville Flea Market. We all had a fantabulous time even if it was like a thousand degrees outside. Here's my outfit & what I found:

Tissue Paper Tassel Garland

Tissue paper tassel garland is everywhere.

 I absolutely love this trend, but it can be expensive unless you make it yourself.

Paper Flower Wreath

Spring is one of my favorite seasons, but my allergies on the other hand don't enjoy spring at all. When I think of spring I think of colorful FLOWERS. I knew I couldn't make a wreath for my room with actual flowers, so I decided to make one with paper flowers instead.

Antique Door Picture Display

If you can't tell I kind of have a thing for pictures, I spend constant hours on Instagram and shooting pictures with my Canon 70D so I can capture my favorite memories. With all of these pictures, I have to come up with creative ways to display them ALL in my room. This old door in the corner of my room is one of my favorite ways to display all of my fun memories.

Burlap Bird Canvas

While I was cleaning out my closet, I found a lace vest that I fell in love with. The floral appliques are exquisite so I knew that I couldn't just get rid of something with so much potential. Plus it was perfect for this really fun and easy craft.

Picture Window

I absolutely love pictures.

They capture the moments that you 

replay over and over in your head

like fun memories with the people that you love.

Since I have been redecorating my room,

I have wanted to put pictures anywhere and everywhere! One of my favorite ways to display photos in my room is in my antique window that I found at a sweet little store

near my grandma's house called The Old Feed Store.

DIY Button Deer Canvas

Today was such a perfect day full of fun and laughter.

My brother and I played in a creek,  

the weather was perfect,

I even got a new camera lens,

and it all ended with my family sharing 

onion rings and pizza at a cute local restaurant.

Ladder Bookcase

I can never pass up a good deal, 

especially if it's a $10 antique ladder!

I knew the ladder obviously was in need of 

a new coat of paint, but I hadn't 

gotten around to painting it until today. 

We had perfect weather, 

I had a new camera I wanted to try out,

and my mom had just painted my room 

while I was recovering from my surgery 

for the past two weeks. I couldn't resist starting

 to decorate my newly redone room.

Chalkboard Wall

I have been in the process of redoing my room

and it seems like it is finally all

starting to come together.

I wanted to make my room a little more

"grown up" and satisfy my need to 

turn my room into 

a Pinterest-esque dream. 

I also thought that toning down the bright

walls would make it easier to 

"redo" my room again if I got the urge to

change it all again.

I'm sure that you're thinking that it's a little crazy,

but it's a good thing for me because I couldn't think of ANY ideas!

2013 Memories

Whew!

Holiday Wall Display

Every year my Christmas decorating begins on Thannksgiving, some may call me crazy but it's a tradition with my family. We break out the Christmas music and let the decorating begin! These past few weeks have been full of days transforming our house and filling it with Christmas spirit. I'm quite happy with how everything has turned out, so I am going to share some of my fun and easy crafts starting at the beginning of my house in our entry way.

Bedding Makeover

I feel like I just finished my room, and I already want to start redoing it again. My room is definitely a work in progress at the moment, but I couldn't wait to go ahead and share what I have done so far. I decided that I wanted to paint my walls white, so that if I want to change again then it will be much easier and then I could incorporate my pops of color.

Antique Desk Makeover

I love a great story behind furniture. This antique desk was my mother's desk from her childhood that her father bought her. My grandfather had to drop out of school in the 3rd grade, so he really cared about my mother's education. He thought that she needed a desk of her very own, so he took her to an auction. The auctioneer was using the desk to auction everything off, so they had to stay until the very end of the auction to get the desk.

Polka Dot Pumpkin

I can't wait for fall to start. I love all of the colors, scents, and perfect weather that come along with fall. I also love decorating for fall!

Even though fall hasn't officially started, I am already in the mood for all things fall. I have been strategically placing pinecones and fall-scented candles all around my house while drinking my Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks. My books love their new home on my ladder bookcase. I found some antique Mark Twain books that I fell in love with a couple of weeks ago, but I thought that they needed a little makeover.
